Windows by Margaret Kaye - Artist

Margaret Kaye (1912-2002) attended the Croydon School of Art before moving to the Royal College of Art where she was taught by Martin Travers, who must have inspired her interest in Stained Glass. Her career, from 1937 until 1985, also included many types of work in textiles, and later in painting as well. She received commissions for new stained glass in various places including Chichester and York, and also did a lot of stained glass restoration work, particularly for windows in houses, including some for the National Trust. She was married to the stage designer Reece Pemberton, they lived in Hammersmith, later moving to their weekend cottage at Tilford Common in Surrey.
