Notes on Window: | The window at St George's Tyler's Hill is dedicated to Miss Bessie Bangay who was a Bishop's Messenger. Bishop's Messengers were women who were appointed as licensed lay readers during WW1. She was appointed in 1917 and served until she died aged 97 in 1987. Hence she served 70 years. |
