Subject(s) - Notes:
The backgrounds of the 3 lights are mainly medieval grisaille work, particularly important in the centre light, which has original roundels linking the whole window together.
Date Made:
c1250 to 14th century
Notes on Window:
We have used a date for the earliest glass in this window of c1250. Expert writings date it between 1240 and 1280. In 1842 the glass was moved from the East window (01) and re-arranged by W Holland. The Royal Arms of England at the base of the centre light are thought to be the oldest in Stained Glass in England. We now think that the Royal Arms were previously in the N window (11). More...
