Bihop Samuel Wilberforce, died 19 July 1873, after falling from his horse near Dorking. More...

Samuel Wilberforce was appointed Bishop of Oxford in October 1845, so was the first Bishop of Oxford with control over Buckinghamshire following its transfer from Lincoln Diocese. His best reputation must be his enthusiasm for preserving existing churhes and establishing new ones.
