Patrick Reyntiens (11 December 1925 - 25 October 2021) was born in London and educated at Ampleforth College, Edinburgh College of Art and St Marylebone School of Art. His introduction to stained glass was as assistant to J.E. Nuttgens, friend and neighbour of sculptor Eric Gill at Piggotts Hill, near High Wycombe. With his wife, artist Anne Bruce, he set up an arts educational centre later known as the Reyntiens trust at Burleighfield House in Loudwater, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. He is best known for his 35-year collaboration with John Piper, with whom he worked on commissions for the Baptistery Window at Coventry Cathedral (1957-61), and the lantern tower of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral (1963-7), for which he is jointly credited as designer. The 150 panels 12ft wide, each weighing up to one and a half tons, were made at Reyntien's Burleighfield House studio. Church commissions in Buckinghamshire include Christ Church Flackwell Heath, St Mary the Virgin, Fawley, St Mary the Virgin, Turville and St Paul's Bledlow Ridge. His work is included in the stained glass collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Patrick Reyntiens' son John Reyntiens also works in stained glass and has a website here http://www.reyntiensglassstudio.com/
